Energy and spectral efficiencies trade-off with filter optimisation in multiple access interference-aware networks

چکیده
In this contribution, the optimized deployment of both spectrum and energy resources scarcely available in the mobile multiple access systems has been analyzed, with special attention to the impact of the filter design on the energy efficiency (EE) of code division multiple access (CDMA) networks. Putting into perspective two conflicting metrics, namely throughput maximization and power consumption minimization, the distributed EE utility function is formulated. We also show that the best energy efficiency versus spectral efficiency (SE) tradeoff is achievable when each node allocates exactly the power necessary to attain the maximum EE. In order to demonstrate the validity of our analysis, a low-complexity energy-spectral-efficient algorithm based on distributed instantaneous signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) level is developed, and the impact of single and multiuser detection filters on the EE-SE tradeoff is extensively analyzed by numerical simulation. Energy and Spectral Efficiencies Trade-off with Filter Optimization in Multiple Access Interference-Aware
This work analyzes the optimized deployment of two resources scarcely available in mobile multiple access systems, i.e., spectrum and energy, as well as the impact of filter optimization in the system performance. Taking in perspective the two conflicting metrics, throughput maximization and power consumption minimization, the distributed energy efficiency (EE) cost function is formulated. Furt...
متن کاملA JOINT DUTY CYCLE SCHEDULING AND ENERGY AWARE ROUTING APPROACH BASED ON EVOLUTIONARY GAME FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS
Network throughput and energy conservation are two conflicting important performance metrics for wireless sensor networks. Since these two objectives are in conflict with each other, it is difficult to achieve them simultaneously. In this paper, a joint duty cycle scheduling and energy aware routing approach is proposed based on evolutionary game theory which is called DREG. Making a trade-off ...
متن کاملAn Energy Productive Heterogeneous Network Using Energy Per-Bit Scheme
In this paper, they study energy efficient resource allocation scheme for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) systems with heterogeneous users. The trade-off between spectral and energy efficiencies is analyzed under the constraint of maintaining the fairness among users. They formulate the energy-efficient optimization problem as an integer fractional programming and present ...
متن کاملNetwork-wide energy efficiency in wireless networks with multiple access points
This paper presents a distributed mechanism for improving the overall energy efficiency of a wireless network where users can control their uplink transmit power targeted to the multiple access points in the network. This mechanism lets the network achieve a trade-off between energy efficiency and spectral efficiency through the use of suitably designed utility functions. A user’s utility is a ...
متن کاملCognitive Spectrum Access in Device-to-Device (D2D)-Enabled Cellular Networks
Cognitive spectrum access (CSA) in in-band D2Denabled cellular networks is a potential feature that can promote efficient resource utilization and interference management among co-existing cellular and D2D users. In this article, we first outline the challenges in resource allocation posed by the coexistence of cellular and D2D users. Next, we provide a qualitative overview of the existing reso...
